A three-ingredient oatmeal dog treat recipe — can it get any easiest than that? We think not! These easy and healthy homemade oatmeal dog treats will surely be a hit with your pup and make a great DIY gift for your friends with their own dogs.
Oatmeal is high in fiber (which can help regulate blood glucose levels and help dogs that have irregular bowel movements), contains B vitamins (which help maintain a healthy coat and metabolism), and has linoleic acid (a type of omega-6 fatty acid that helps to keep a dog’s skin strong and healthy). With all these great nutrients, it’s hard to find a reason not to make these oatmeal dog treats.
Ingredients
- 5 1/2 cups rolled oats (not instant)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup plain, no sugar or artificial sweetener-added applesauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In the bowl of a food processor, add oats and grind until they’re almost a fine powder.
- Add eggs and applesauce. Run food processor for a couple of minutes until mixture is uniform.

- Cool completely on baking sheet before storing or giving to your dog.
Notes
- Treats will keep for a few days at room temperature.
- Treats will keep in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks or the freezer for 6 months.
